Expectations

Picture
There are 3 rules of the road I expect students to follow in order to successfully navigate the highway that is our classroom.
  1. Be Prepared
  2. Be Respectful
  3. Do Your Best

These are three very simple rules I expect students to comply with while taking part in my classes. I feel that these basic rules, if followed, will help students to be very successful during my classes. The remainder of the items that I have setup in my classroom are procedures and range from things like asking for help, handing in assignments, and requesting to leave the classroom.

Procedures

  • Absences
Regular attendance is essential for students to be successful. If you are unable to attend school it is your responsibility to get any missed work or notes.
  • Assignments
You will be expected to turn in weekly assignments. If you are absent the day they are due or you have not completed the work it is your responsibility to speak with me about an extension.
  • Assessments & Re-Writes
We will be having weekly assessments. There will be a pre-assessment (formative) mid week designed to be formative and allow me an opportunity to review topics students are struggling with and a summative assessment will be written at the end of the week. If you receive a better grade on the pre-assessment that mark will be the one given to you in Power School. If you wish to improve your mark on any summative assessment you may schedule a re-write with me.

Powerschool

  • Attendance
Attendance will be recorded in PowerSchool. Parents should receive a notification if their child has an unexcused absence from school during any period of the school day. If a student is going to be away from school please send a note with them the following day so attendance can be updated to reflect an illness or appointment.
  • Grades
Grades will be recorded in PowerSchool and are accessible to parents who have setup an account with the school. If you are interested in getting access to the Parent Portal please contact the school. Students also have access to this website using their district assigned account information. The button below will take you to the login screen.
